I have added something. I didn't know where you wanted it on the page. Feel free to rearrange as needed. Also, speaking of rearranging, since I came on last and my items are now listed first, I am fine if someone wants to be designated rearrange shop person and move mine down or split them up. (I could volunteer for this if you want.)

That sounds like a great idea Cathy. Rotating the items so everyone has a chance to be 'on top'.

I think we should have something written where it says 'shop title'. I read something about how that comes up in google when people do searches. So, it should be something general enough to include all of us as artists, like 'Eclectic items from Eclectic Artists'...or whatever.

ALSO, I read that the first little blurb in the shop announcement comes up as well when people search for particular items so it was suggested that your first sentence should be about the items you sell. I changed mine from:

Hello! You've made it to my little part of the Etsian world. to

Quality Handmade Papercrafts (and more) for you or that special someone!

What do you all think about that? Am I just being ????

Patrice, you are correct about the shop title and first couple of lines of the shop announcement.

How about a shop title of:

Eclectic mix of jewelry, home decor, accessories and more

The first couple of lines of the shop announcement could be:

Shop here for Eclectic Items from Eclectic Artists. Choose from cards, jewelry, photos, needlecraft, hair accessories, polymer clay creations and grab bags of goodies.

Sounds good to me!! What do the rest of you think?

I think that sounds good! It is always something that We can update as more members join the shop ranks too. I say go ahead and make the change!

I am so glad that everyone is excited about this and getting involved in the team shop decision making! This is going to make for a great shop!

I added the text that I suggested and tweaked what followed in the shop announcement to keep it short. Feel free to edit as needed.

I didn't enable rearrange your shop until I hear if more people would like for me to keep up with that. This would be separate from what (I'm assuming) Michelle is doing with favorites.

I just added my shop information to our profile page. This is all so exciting! On the subject of arranging the subcategories, I thought it might make the most sense to have them alphabetized, but that may be my inner librarian speaking.

I like the idea of alphabetizing. We could even change it to reverse alphabet occasionally.

I always like to see the sections listed with the shortest name first and the longest last

Wendy, I do that to some extent in my shop. It does sometimes help with flow. I changed the sections to alphabetical before I saw your suggestion. See what you think. I think a listing of shop names is easier to read and scan alphabetically.

Also, I did some shop rearranging. Since we state that we are a shop of eclectic items (which we are) I didn't try to group types of items, but tried to make the colors flow pleasingly like a good front page. If you like my efforts, I'm up to continuing keeping up with the shop section if someone else keeps up with rotating the favorites occasionally.

Cathy, that does look very nice! I'd be happy to go in and rotate the favorites a couple of times a week. I think Michelle suggested aiming for Monday and Friday?

I'm glad you like the arrangement. I think you are right, inspiration, about the favorites. I don't think anyone is going to set their calendars by when we change our favorites though, so if they could be freshened up once a week for a new look, with the number of items that we have, it would be great.
