I posted this in my other team's thread too. I've always taken the, "can't Etsy do anything right" people with a grain of salt, but this is unbelievable. Not what I wanted to hear after a mediocre show this past weekend.
Etsy has been talking about the new checkout for quite some time and I have been excited about the prospect of getting rid of npb's. Well, this is not the info I wanted to see regarding the new checkout when I got back today. (

It's just about impossible to keep up with all the different threads on the new checkout. Suffice it to say, it was not ready for prime time and should be rolled back until it can be completely fixed. It's just causing too much chaos.
Here's a partial list of the problems so far:
1. Receipt page not updating after payment. Pay Now button still appears after buyer has paid. Buyer thinks their payment did not go through.
2. Add to Cart is dragging the buyer into the cart instead of just adding the item to the cart. The buyer may not be through shopping yet, but doesn't know how to keep shopping (see number 3), so they end up checking out before they are ready.
3. No keep shopping button. Buyers are confused about how to purchase multiple items.
4. Using the Back button when in the cart removes all of the information buyer entered in the Message to Seller area.
5. If the buyer is on a shop page and clicks the cart by accident, they go to an empty cart and there is no return to the shop they were just in. If they hit the back button from this screen they end up on the front page of etsy.
6. Buyers making purchases from multiple sellers are reporting items disappearing from their carts. For example, they buy from three sellers, the first two go fine, but the info on the third seller disappears when they return to their cart.
7. Sold items are not updating immediately so they are still showing as available in shops when they have already sold.
8. If the buyer attempts to buy something that has already been purchased by another person, they are no longer directed back to the shop to find another or similar item like the old checkout did, the shop information just disappears.
9. Number of items in cart is incorrect. It is counting the number of shops a buyer is purchasing from, not the number of items in the cart.
10. The confirmation emails on multi item orders are incorrect and do not reflect the total price paid.
11. The cart does not display a total amount spent until the buyer gets to paypal.
12. Paypal has updated the way they process shipping addresses, an update etsy was unaware of or has not planned for. Some people are unable to pay at all and keep getting error messages.
13. Sellers with multiple shops are reporting that the paypal payment notification emails are going out to their customers from the wrong shop address. With express checkout, Paypal is defaulting to the seller's primary address, instead of the shop address. There is no fix for this.
There will likely be more issues reported as this continues to roll out. Most of the above issues have been known from the very earliest stages of the roll out, but we've seen no fixes so far.
Etsy, if you can't fix it, please roll it back until after the holidays. This is not a positive buying experience for our customers.
