Team Shop Vacation Notice

In some thread earlier this year, the team agreed that the team shop concept was not working for us and we would just let the items expire. The few remaining items will do just that in the next few weeks. I spoke with Michelle and she liked my idea of putting the shop in vacation mode when that happens with some text that would be appropriate in the vacation shop announcement.

The other team that I am in had an announcement a while back that I thought had some promise as a template for us. Some of it obviously doesn't apply, but I will post all of it below for you to look at.

What I need from the team is an idea if you think this is in general a good way to move forward after all of the items expire and any specific language that you think should be in our shop announcement. I will take all of your input and craft a draft message for our team shop for you to look at.

EtsyTexasCrafters' Shop Announcement
The ETC team shop is temporarily closed while we re-stock our samples.

Even though our shop is temporarily closed, you are welcome to contact us using the link to the right...we are still around and will respond in a timely manner. AND, we are continuing to hold our Monday events:

I haven't gotten any feedback on suggested changes, so I made a stab at it. It is below with some comments in purple. Please give me your thoughts no later than Friday so that I can take care of this before I head out of town the following week.

We will be back open as soon as we figure out how to effectively manage a team shop. In the mean time, you can shop our members’ stores by searching the tag “eart team” or clicking on an EART team member’s shop link on our blog.

(I’m assuming that the following notice is what you get when you put a shop in vacation mode. However, since I have never done that, I don’t know for sure. Please let me know what you want changed so that when our last item comes off around the 4th, I can change our team shop to vacation mode. Also, let me know if anyone has anything I need to pay attention to when I do this.)

I went to check on the team shop today. We only have one item left that should expire today or tomorrow. I'll put up the vacation notice when it does and remove the shop widget showing items then too.

Surprisingly, when I signed in we had a convo. Michelle's lego bracelet was featured in a treasury on June 29. Unfortunately the bracelet had since expired, so I couldn't get a screen shot.

I replied to the treasury maker and thanked her and told her how to find a replacement item for her treasury from Michelle's shop.

Ok, I have the vacation mode up and the team shop info off of the blog.

Something else on the blog that I think we should remove until we have a few more people and find someone who wants to do it, is the info for the monthly team newsletter.
